"How to join? I'm here in Al Twar 2." "Mahirap pumasok sa online registration, ma'am!" It's hard to get into the online registration. If you're a kasambahay in Dubai who saw the announcement for this year's Sunday event for domestic workers, here's what it is, what you can get done there, and how to register.
What Salamat, Kabayan! is
Salamat, Kabayan! is the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Dubai's yearly appreciation day for Filipino domestic workers, run with the Philippine Consulate and community groups. It's held on a weekend day, so kasambahays can come on their day off, and it mixes a day of fun (games, raffles and food) with government services you'd normally have to take time off to get.
It has grown every year. Attendance went from 300 at the first edition to 700 the year after, so registering early matters.
Who can join
The event is for Filipino domestic workers holding a valid domestic worker visa issued by Dubai or the Northern Emirates: Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. If you work in Abu Dhabi, you're covered by the Philippine Embassy and MWO in Abu Dhabi instead.
What you can get done
Past editions have offered:
- Contract verification
- OWWA membership, new or renewal
- SSS membership
- Pag-IBIG membership renewal
Bring two copies of every document for each service you need, as MWO Dubai has asked in past years. That usually means your passport, visa, Emirates ID and employment contract.
How to register when the online form is hard
Registration is online, and only registered participants are let in. If the form isn't working for you:
- Open the link in your phone's browser (Chrome or Safari), not inside Facebook or Messenger. In-app browsers often break online forms.
- Have your details ready before you start: your full name as it appears in your passport, passport number, visa details and email address.
- Use an email address you can actually check. Confirmation is usually sent by email, so look in your spam folder too.
- Ask a friend or your community group to help. Many Filipino associations in Dubai help kasambahays register.
- Still stuck? Message MWO Dubai through its official Facebook page, facebook.com/MWODubaiOfficial, before the registration deadline.
Don't go without confirmation. Entry is usually limited to registered participants.
Not a domestic worker? The Serbisyo Caravan is for everyone
MWO Dubai also runs the bigger Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan, open to all OFWs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The fourth caravan is on Saturday, 7 November 2026, from 8am to 5pm, at Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.
It brings together 13 Philippine government agencies and more than 48 services, including:
- passport renewal
- contract verification
- notarial services and civil registration
- OWWA membership and welfare assistance
- ID issuance
Registration is required. Some agencies, such as the Philippine Consulate, have their own registration links, so sign up through the link for the service you need. Follow mwodubai.org and MWO Dubai's official Facebook page for each event's links and updates.
Event details and services can change. Always follow MWO Dubai's official announcements.
